The SSR, Chevrolet's hot, high powered, retro themed Caruck err, we mean Trucar, err lets try the vehicle with a high power identity crisis, is not even so much as warm.
GM Announced that due to dwindling sales, their Lansing, Michican Craft Centre Plant has been set to a quiet idle, as the demand for the SSR isn't as he General had anticipated.
A rough estimate of 12,983 SSR's have been sold since their debut, around 3,500 SSR's are in stock around the country, which gives suppliers a 175 day stock, this is usually not an ideal number for auto dealerships.
The Craft Centre plant, with the current idle downtime, will have been closed for over 30 weeks this year, thats more than half of the year total.
Auto enthusiast groups argue that the SSR is GM's new "Muscle Car" while others complain that the SSR is more CAR then muscle, due to its massive weight the power it puts out is to get it moving from a dead stop. |
