General Motors and other automotive companies have began placing monitoring devices in vehicles that may make or break the case in a vehicular accident.

The device monitors throttle position, engine RPM's, vehicle speed, safety belt, braking, and other statistics in the way you drive.

These devices could also potentially bring an insurance drop for law abiding citizens who drive normally and carefully, or the device can more than double rates for a common road rage warrior with constant wide open throttle accelerations, abrupt swerves and stops.

Now, for the good news about these devices; Should you be involved in a MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) that was not your fault. Your vehicle can report to your insurance agency, when connected to a computer capable of reading the data, and help reconstruct the accident, which would then determine the driver at fault.

Devices like these are said to be planned for installation in all factory cars in the near future
