Welcome to S-Series.org. The ORiGinal S-Series Enthusiast Website on the internet.

Let me first start off by introducing myself, I am Jonathan Guthrie, Staff front page writer for S-Series.org, and instead of writing to you news about vehicles other than an S10, I want to take time to inform YOU why I came to, and love S-Series.org, and why this site remains the #1 source for S-Series related Technical info. S-Series.org, like any other website had started off small and grew to a be a popular headstone of technical resources, customization techniques, and do it yourself upgrades to S-Series line, which include the little S-10 pickup truck, and it's brothers the S-15/Sonoma, Blazer/Jimmy, Syclone/Typhoon and Isuzu Hombre, it is assumable that the site grew far beyond what the sites original creators had imagined.

S-Series.org also houses V8 swap information, electrical information, transmission upgrade information, routine maintenance how-to's, upgrades and retrofitting how-to's, recall information, just overall a plethora of information that'll be hard to find in any other site.

I came to S-Series.org after an accident that totaled my 1988 GMC S-15, I thought it was a goner; the back story goes as follows: A person was in a rush to beat the yellow light at an intersection and jumped a concrete median to do so, going  right into my path of travel as I was making a left hand turn, my frame was bent and twisted in the front, but for the force of the impact the small pickup handled it very well, which is what finally sold me on S10's as my daily driver as far as safety was concerned. I felt safe in my square box of a pickup truck.

Upon registering for S-Series.org's discussion forum, one of my first questions on the board were about shortening a bed and putting an extended cab onto a short bed frame, this would have given me a Ford Explorer Sport Trac type look, but in a compact size; the idea was supported by few and scoffed at by many. Not because of it being a bad swap, the ones that scoffed at it thought the idea would be neat, but because of the practicality (or lack thereof) of that type of swap, it's wasn’t worth doing. When someone mentioned ride quality being lost, I immediately started searching for more answers; I couldn't stand to lose my good ride.

The members with mass knowledge on the frames and build of these small pickup trucks were highly helpful with suggestions and ideas, some suggested that I do a frame swap, or build a new frame from scratch, so I set out in my search to find a new frame, I instead found a donor truck with a 2WD frame and a bad body. I had a truck with a good body (sans fenders) and bad frame. After asking the question "Can I install my 4x4 body and engine into my 2WD frame?" Within MINUTES I had people telling me the swap was safe to do, and even some going the extra miles to explain to me what I would run into and what I would not, I immediately went out and purchased that donor truck, feeling great that I had found this site and people that were actually willing to help me.

At this time, I was only 17 years old, had driven my truck not even a year, and she was gone... I was in high school and had a job, which forced me to work on the re-building of my truck when I was tired, and prone to many mistakes, but when I ran into an issue, .ORG was there to quickly and accurately help me solve my problem. Over the years S-Series.org has also began to compile more information for the site in a quick and easy to use menu system for people in a bind like I was to use and help them quickly and accurately get their issues taken care of, information which you can find by clicking "How-To Articles" to the left or at this address http://s-series.org/component/option,com_tech_article/

In addition to the Technical Articles section, S-Series.org houses a performance section which shows which aftermarket parts can be used on specific engines. The performance area also has performance and technical calculators, engine specification sheets, and RPO Decoding. To access this information, you may click on "Performance Section" on the left hand menu, or click the following link http://s-series.org/content/view/24/32/ .

Finally, the last bit of information I would like to make users aware of, is the MODEL HISTORY area listed under "THE TRUCKS" on the left hand menu. In this area you can read about upgrades and changes to certain models in every year there was a change made, whether it be a tire option, a convenience package, color changes or deletions, and more. This section also has short descriptions on each vehicle and what years each model was made. To access this area, click on "The Trucks" on the left menu or click the following link.http://s-series.org/content/view/12/28/

In short, the information contained on S-Series.org has helped me keep a once totaled, and three times wrecked vehicle running safely on the road, S-Series.org contains information that would not be found in your every-day repair manual.

S-Series.org has helped me in many ways on my vehicle, and has helped countless other people with their vehicles, and the information the members contribute to the site on a daily basis make it the most informative S-Series Enthusiast website on the internet.

I would like to express a Thank you, and encourage you to do the same to S-Series.org and it's members for everything the information and people have taught each other, and most importantly to the webmaster CUSTMGURU for putting in countless days and hours of work, in order to make S-Series.org, the #1 source for S-Series information on the internet.
