Man, do I ever hate being sick. I've spent over a week coughing, sniffing, and nearly puking from congestion. Not only am I sick physically, all of our new friends from Russia are making me menatlly ill. Do they really think they stand a chance in thier efforts to spam thier drugs, sex sites, and online gambling sites. Any posts they make are deleted within hours, we disable thier accounts, and now I have had to turn on the admin approval for new accounts. Positive note is, we are growing into a worldwide community. I sent a pack of stickers to Germany to one of our members, and I also sent a pack to Brazil. Hopefully they will be going on righteous S's. I also noticed a new member from the UK and will be contacting him shortly. We will be pleased to accept any international S owner, and if you live abroad, please use the contact form to let me know. |

Ola! It appears I'm cresting the inevitable decline. My 30th birthday is a week away and i apparently have no way of slamming on the brakes and stopping the decent into senility. OK, so 30 isn't a major sign of inevitable doom, but I still feel young at heart and I don't want to become one of those creepy old guys that refuses to grow up. |

As I sit here writing, we are part way into another spring break, and I am very thankful of the public school system for taking my kids for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Living in the Pacific Northwest, weather is not always cooperative for them playing outside, right now it's soaking wet and slightly chilly so they are stuck inside. Childhood exuberance however, will make it out regardless of whether they make it outside. Let's just leave it saying, I don't understand 12 year olds AT ALL! |

Another Day, Another Dollar Well, not really. This is a labor of love more than anything. Another week along the rebuild, and we are finally live. Some features are up, some are down, some are incomplete, but given time it will all be completed to give that final finish. This has been the most complete rebuild we've ever done, and it shows through the time it's taken. All in all this is done for the users, who truly make the site what it is to visit. We're not just building a site here, we're building a community. Thanks to everyone who has spent thier time over the years guiding us towards where we are today. |

So here we are, finishing another redesign and I wonder... How much does an average user appreciate the time spent on a makeover of these proportions? I figure I have close to a hundred man hours involved through all the file transfers, technical errors, and mistakes. Do they care? I can only wonder I guess, I know the work was worth it from my point of view, since I'm hoping to give my users a significant increase of functionality. Hopefully it will also develop into a project that looks a lot more aesthetic than the last feeble design I was saddled with. Until next time... |
