Parts Required K& N filter for a TPI 350 (oval inlet = to 4") 3" to 4" rubber adapter from Home Depot The top to a can of black spray paint to block off where the Silencer went K&N $40 Rubber $5 Spray Paint Cap $2.50 includes paint!! REMOVAL The lower 1/2 of the airbox comes out with one 10mm nut and a little wiggling, the air tube across the radiator comes out with bezel screws, then you loosen the clamp going to the Silencer, break it apart from the air tube, remove the air tube, now wiggle the Silencer out, it WILL come out if pulled up through the right side of the upper radiator hose. THE PATCH and RE-INSTALL Once both pieces are removed, you'll notice the hose clamp that held it has a piece of rubber under it, it seal the 2 pieces of plastic together, remove it from the airtube (where mine was after all this) Take the Spray can Cap and slide the rubber on it, the slide it back on the airtube, tighten the clamps, and reinstall the airtube. Click to see larger image. | | | Once reinstalled take the 3" to 4" rubber piece and slide it on where the airtube attached to the airbox, you will need to remove the hose clamp that is attached by those little rubber pointy things. Slide them together, make sure the airtube is smooth inside the rubber piece, it will want to bend up a little. then tighten the clamp, then slide the K&N in the 4" side of the rubber and tighten the clamp, fire it up your done, This can also be done with out the Rubber between the filter and tube NOTES Other filters may also work, I just used what I had, the filter is for a NON Mass Air TPI car, it would bolt right to the TPI throttle body. I will have to find the actual part number. |
